Lead Artist

Dawn Sculthorpe-Hayter works under SculthorpeStudios, developing systems-based conceptual art and participatory practice.

Her work operates across visual practice, writing and institutional analysis, focusing on how form emerges through systems rather than individual authorship. Projects are developed through defined conditions, where material, environment and participation interact to produce coherent outcomes.

Her background spans science, organisational analysis and cultural research, informing a practice concerned with how complex systems are lived rather than how they are described.

The work explores institutional form, human adaptation and the aesthetics of systems under strain. It examines how people compensate for structural gaps, how culture emerges through repeated interaction and how alignment or misalignment becomes perceptible over time.
